How an electrified fleet fits your firm’s travel reporting
Ground transport is part of business travel, and business travel is part of most firms’ carbon reporting. Here is how a chauffeur supplier can help with that, and what to ask for.
Where chauffeur journeys sit in your reporting
For most firms, journeys in a supplier’s vehicle are reported as indirect emissions from business travel, part of Scope 3 under the GHG Protocol. To report them accurately, your sustainability team needs basic journey data: how far each trip was and what kind of vehicle made it.
What electrified means at Noble
Our fleet is fully electrified: every vehicle is either fully electric or a hybrid. In First Class, that means the fully electric BMW i7 alongside the plug-in hybrid BMW 750e and Mercedes-Benz S-Class S580e. A fully electric car has no tailpipe emissions; a hybrid can cover much of a city journey on electric power, with the petrol engine supporting longer trips. We are open about which is which, because accurate reporting depends on it.
Lower emissions only count if they can be measured and reported honestly.
What to ask your supplier
Which vehicle types were used for your journeys · Mileage per journey or per period · Usage reports by department, cost centre or matter · A copy of the supplier’s environmental policy or sustainability statement
Usage reporting is available to our corporate account clients on request, and our Sustainability & Environmental Statement is available in our Documents section.
Beyond the vehicle
The car is only part of the picture. Careful route planning and journey coordination reduce unnecessary mileage and waiting time with the engine running. Combining journeys, sizing the vehicle correctly and planning ahead all reduce the footprint of the same programme of travel.
If your firm is setting travel targets, talk to us about how we can support your reporting. We will provide the journey data your sustainability team needs.
